Overview
I was the only mobile developer on ClickTime V2, the rebuild of ClickTime Australia's workforce system. Through 2021 I built both React Native apps, one for employees and one for admins, on top of their Laravel REST APIs, and shipped the first V2 release to Google Play and the App Store. The core of the work was GPS tracking that keeps recording in the background on Android and iOS.

Challenge
- Field staff work across job sites, so location had to keep recording in the background on both platforms, even with the app closed.
- Employees could fake their location with mock GPS apps to cheat clock-ins.
Approach
- Built a custom native bridge on Android and iOS to record location reliably in the background.
- Detected fake/mock GPS and blocked users from clocking in while it was on.
Results
- Shipped V2 to both stores in 2021; the employee app is still live with 5K+ downloads on Google Play.
